It was recently reported that ChatGPT maker OpenAI was planning on enhancing the chatbot's capabilties and tapping into a new market by launching a competitor to Google Search. Reports had also claimed that this new search product could be unveiled a day before Google I/O, on May 13. However, Altman has denied such rumours. On the other hand, he has also confirmed that something is indeed cooking and OpenAI will be making announcements regarding ChatGPT updates soon.

In a post on X, Altman wrote, "Not GPT-5, not a search engine, but we’ve been hard at work on some new stuff we think people will love! feels like magic to me. Monday 10am PT." This means that for India, just a couple of hours from now, OpenAI is going to make announcements regarding ChatGPT and GPT-4.

Meanwhile, Sam Altman was in news recently for saying that he is dedicated towards building AGI, no matter the cost. While interacting with students of Stanford University, Altman said that any cost to develop AGI is justified. "There is probably some more business-minded person than me at OpenAI somewhere worried about how much we’re spending, but I kinda don’t," he said as per a report in The Fortune.

"Whether we burn $500 million a year or $5 billion or $50 billion a year I don’t care, I genuinely don’t as long as we can I think stay on a trajectory where eventually we create way more value for society than that and as long as we can figure out a way to pay the bills like we’re making AGI it’s going to be expensive it’s totally worth it," he added.
