The Altroz Racer was unveiled as a concept at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024 this past February, following its debut at the Auto Expo last year garnering plenty of attention.

The standard Tata Altroz competes with the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Hyundai i20 and Toyota Glanza. It is notable for being the first model built on the ALFA (Agile Light Flexible Advanced) platform and boasts an impressive five-star safety rating from Global NCAP – the only model in its segment to achieve this feat. The Racer will also have the same safety rating.

The production avatar of the Tata Altroz Racer closely mirrors the concept model showcased at various automotive events, embodying a race car inspired design. It also features dual white racing stripes on the bonnet and roof and a granite black cabin theme, accentuated by vibrant orange touches that enhance its overall appeal. It sports a vibrant orange paint scheme with black base paint, creating a two-tone appearance.

The Altroz Racer features a 1.2L turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine, generating 120 PS of power at 5,500 rpm and 170 Nm of torque between 1,750 rpm and 4,000 rpm. Its dimensions are 3,990 mm in length, 1,755 mm in width and 1,523 mm in height with a wheelbase of 2,501 mm. It will challenge the Hyundai i20 N Line.

Just like the exterior, the interior will get visual enhancements to differentiate itself from this standard model. Some of the highlights are a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, a seven-inch TFT instrument cluster, six airbags, a HUD, a 360-degree camera system, and voice activated electric sunroof.

Customers will also get ventilated driver and front passenger seats, shark fin antenna, wireless charger, leatherette seats with contrasting red and white racing stripes, a set of newly designed 16-inch diamond cut alloy wheels, projector LED headlamps and LED DRLs, rear AC vents, and Racer badging.
