Tata Curvv, Curvv EV debut on August 7: Here’s what we know

Tata hasn’t yet confirmed if prices of Curvv and Curvv EV will be announced on August 7 or not.

Tata Motors is actively promoting its upcoming Curvv coupe SUV on its various social media handles. The crossover has been spotted testing on the roads on innumerable occasions over the past year. Making its debut as a concept at the 2023 Auto Expo, Tata unveiled a closer-to-production concept at the Bharat Mobility Expo earlier this year.

Now, the company has officially announced the date when the coupe SUV will break covers for the first time in the fully production-spec avatar. Tata Motors has confirmed that it will unveil the Coupe— both in the combustion- and battery-powered iterations— on August 7. In the past one week, Tata Motors has shared multiple teasers of the coupe SUV on social media.

Tata Curvv: Exterior design

As seen from the previous images of the pre-production concept model, the design will be in sync with the recent SUV launches like Harrier, Safari, Nexon, and Punch.ev based on the brand’s new design philosophy. Up front it will get a sleek LED strip on top and dual-projector LED headlamps inside triangular clusters at the bottom. From the side, it sports muscular wheel arches, however, the highlight is the sharply receding roofline.

A similar connected LED stripe is likely to be offered at the rear as well. Other highlights include a wide track, a shark fin antenna, and a prominent boot lid spoiler. The latest spy images reveal top shots of the Curvv clearly indicating the presence of a panoramic sunroof.

Tata Curvv: Interiors & Features

The Curvv’s interior, previewed in concept images, embraces a modern, minimalist approach. Physical buttons are minimised in favour of touchscreens for a clean look. A central floating infotainment touchscreen takes centre stage, complemented by a digital instrument cluster and a new two-spoke steering wheel with integrated touch controls.

Creature comforts include ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, and a premium JBL sound system. Safety is addressed with a Level 2 ADAS suite, while everyday convenience is enhanced by features like powered ORVMs, auto-dimming IRVM, a 360-degree surround camera, push-button start, and wireless smartphone charging.

Tata Curvv: Powertrain specs

The Curvv will be offered in both electric and ICE versions, built on Tata’s new Gen 2 EV architecture called the Acti.ev platform\. The electric Curvv promises a range of 400-500 km on a single charge, with options for both front-wheel drive (single motor) and all-wheel drive (dual motor).

For those preferring fossil fuels, the Curvv will borrow the proven 1.2L turbo-petrol and 1.5L diesel engines from the Nexon, but with more power. Transmission options will likely include a 6-speed manual, 6-speed AMT, and possibly a 7-speed DCT.
