Upon launch, Tata Curvv will directly take on the upcoming Citroen Basalt couple SUV along with Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and Maruti Grand Vitara among others.
Tata Motors previewed the Curvv for the first time in a concept form a couple of years ago and again at the 2023 Auto Expo. The coupe SUV is slated to launch this year, most probably around the upcoming festive season. Like Punch and Nexon, the Curvv will be offered in both combustion and fully electric derivatives.
Test mules of the crossover have been spied on numerous occasions over the last one year or so. The coupe SUV has been spotted testing once again, this time the spy shots revealing more details about it.

The biggest visual highlight is definitely the sloping Coup-like roofline giving it a distinct side profile. Up front, the design will be in sync with the recent SUV launches like Harrier, Safari, Nexon, and Punch.ev based on the brand’s new design philosophy with a sleek LED strip on top and dual-projector LED headlamps inside triangular clusters at the bottom.

From the side, it sports muscular wheel arches and sleek connected LED tail lamps. Other highlights include a wide track, a shark fin antenna, and a prominent boot lid spoiler. The latest spy images reveal top shots of the Curvv clearly indicating the presence of a panoramic sunroof.

Cabin interiors of Curvv will flaunt a minimalist theme with an all-black layout. Highlights include a floating touchscreen infotainment display, a fully-digital instrument console, Tata’s new two-spoke steering wheel with a touch panel, and touch-based HVAC controls. Other notable features expected to be included are powered ORVMs, push-button start, and wireless smartphone charging to name a few.

Tata Curvv spied: Expected powertrain specs
The EV version of Curvv is expected to get both single- and dual-motor setups. The former will get a front-wheel drive layout while the latter will get an all-wheel drive configuration. In either, range will be around 400-500 km on a single charge. Out of the two test mules spotted in the latest spy images, at least one of them is an ICE derivative with an combustion engine under its hood.

The ICE version of Curvv is expected to be powered by a new 1.2-litre direct-injection turbocharged petrol engine that was showcased at Auto Expo 2023. This motor can push out 123 bhp and 225 Nm of peak torque. In addition, Tata will also offer the 1.5-litre diesel mill from the Nexon in the Curvv, producing 114 bhp and 260 Nm of peak torque. CNG variants of the coupe SUV are expected to join the lineup at a later stage.
