At the same event, the company also revealed its future plans which involves its gen-3 EV, the Tata Avinya! Yes, the Avinya will be the flagship offering as it will be the mini Land Rover for the brand. So when will Tata Avinya launch and what can we expect?

What is Tata Avinya?
Tata Motors showcased the Avinya concept in 2022 as a futuristic vision of an MPV. Sanskrit for ‘Innovation’, the Avinya is designed to focus on the holistic well-being of its passengers. Alongside the Avinya concept, Tata Motors also revealed its upcoming gen-3 skateboard EV architecture. Based on the JLR’s EMA platform, this new platform will underpin all new EVs from both companies. What’s exciting is that unlike the Harrier’s platform which is derivative of the Land Rover platform, the Avinya will be exactly similar to the EMA platform.

Secondly, the concept Avinya represents a sub-family of premium electric SUVs expected to come from Tata Motors. This nameplate will spawn a range of models including an MPV and an SUV. Expect these to be the most premium and feature rich products from the brand offering a comfortable atmosphere with various materials and sensory elements. Other key elements on the inside include the new twin-spoke illuminated steering wheel, voice activated infotainment system with individual speakers in the headrests, swivelling seats and camera for ORVM.

Tata Avinya Launch – Launch Timeline
So as the brand has clarified that the EMA platform will spawn a series of cars, let’s talk about the launch timeline. In the recent investor’s day of the brand, Tata Motors revealed that the first car or SUV based on the EMA platform will be launched by mid-2026. This could be an SUV based on the concept showcased in 2022. Upcoming launches for the brand include the Curvv EV (August 2024), Nexon Turbo CNG (September 2024) and the Harrier EV (January 2025) among others.
