This US-based networking company may cut up to 500 jobs in India after merger with Hewlett Packard Enterprises

Job roles at Juniper likely to be impacted by job cutsJuniper Networks , a networking products and solutions company, is reportedly likely to lay off 10-15% of its workforce in India, or nearly 500 employees, as part of its merger with Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE). According to a report in Economic Times, a source told the publication, "The jobs cuts, is a logical step, and once the regulatory process is over paving the way for merger with HPE, India headcount in a range of 10-15% may be impacted. "The US-based company currently employs around 3,500 people in India.Functions across sales, marketing, shared services, product development, and research and development (R&D) are likely to be affected by the merger, according to analysts. "Overlapping roles that lie in sales, shared services, and also in product development, are likely to get affected," Rohan Dhamija, managing partner at Analysys Mason told ETTelecom.Both companies have said that the merger is expected to close before the end of 2024 or early 2025. The acquisition is seen by analysts as a way for HPE to expand its enterprise networking business and compete more effectively with Cisco.Juniper Networks did not respond to a query from ETTelecom.
