Jared Brick shared the story in a YouTube video, detailing how he lost it and got it back with the help of the feature.Apple's Find My app allows users to locate not only their iPhones but also other Apple devices like iPads, Macs, Apple Watches, and even AirPods.In a video, Brick said that in June 2022, he went vacationing in the Caribbean with his son. He purchased new Apple Watches for both of them, allowing his son to stay connected even without a phone. He said that he lost his Apple Watch during a scuba diving trip.“Somehow, it just slipped off my wrist and into the water. I didn't even realise it at first, just mesmerised by the beautiful scenery,” Brick explained in the video.Brick marked the watch as lost using Find My and admitted that he had hopes that someday he’ll get his wearable back.In December 2023, the hope materialised when Brick got a voicemail from someone in the Caribbean, informing him that someone named Jonathan had found his watch. The watch was still functional, and the Find My message with Brick's contact information was displayed.Jonathan, the kind stranger, arranged to ship the watch back to California. Upon receiving it, Brick confirmed it was his lost treasure and, more importantly, that it still worked perfectly.“Huge thanks to Jonathan for finding it, contacting me, and sending it back,” Brick said and praised Apple for creating “such amazing technology that works.”
