WhatApp calling UI updatesWhatsApp is making once again changes to the calling interface in its beta app for Android by rolling out a new calling bar. Previously, a back button was replaced with a minimise button to avoid accidental call ending and now a new interface for the bottom calling bar is being rolled out to some beta testers.Available with update on Google Play Store (version 2.24.12.14), the new interface brings changes in the bottom half of the app’s calling screen. WABetainfo shared a screenshot that shows a modernised interface of the call bar and making the profile photo bigger.“With the previous update, WhatsApp redesigned the top part of the screen to enhance button visibility and distinguishability by adding a semi-transparent background. With the most recent updates, WhatsApp is now focusing on the bottom part of the screen,” the platform said.It is to be noted that the new bottom calling bar is available to a limited group of testers now and may be available for more users soon.“A new interface for the bottom calling bar is available to some beta testers who install the latest updates of WhatsApp beta for Android from the Google Play Store, and it is rolling out to even more people over the coming days,” the platform noted. The previous update was aimed at enhancing user navigation “and intuitiveness during calls by replacing the back shortcut with a new minimise button” as well as addresses a common concern where the back button was often mistakenly perceived as ending the call.
