The last week was eventful for the Indian two-wheeler market with multiple new launches taking place in different segments. However, most of these were new colour variants, barring BMW’s litre-class sport tourer which entered our shores in its 2024 avatar. In case you couldn’t stay up to date with these updates, here’s a roundup.
KTM 200 Duke and 250 Duke new colours
KTM launched the 2024 250 Duke in India, and as a part of the model year update, it received a new Atlantic Blue colourway. Simultaneously, the 200 Duke was also introduced two new colours, namely Electronic Orange and Dark Galvano. These will be sold alongside the existing Dark Silver Metallic trim. The prices and technical specifications of both bikes remain unchanged.
BMW S 1000 XR launch
BMW Motorrad launched the latest S 1000 XR in India at Rs. 22.50 lakh which makes it Rs. 30,000 more expensive than the previous iteration. Owing to its touring purpose, the S 1000 XR, despite looking sporty, boasts a tall stance and offers an upright yet commanding riding posture. It is powered by a 999cc inline four-cylinder engine that makes 170bhp and 114Nm. Although it borrows the motor from the S 1000 RR, it is detuned and makes less power.
Jawa 42 Bobber new colour
Jawa Yezdi Motorcycles introduced the Jawa 42 Bobber Red Sheen edition in India at Rs 2.29 lakh. It is the top-spec variant alongside the Black Mirror edition. The Red Sheen edition features a dual-tone red and chrome finish on the fuel tank and diamond-cut alloy wheels. The latter offers the convenience of tubeless tyres over spoke wheels. Besides the new paint scheme and alloy wheels, the 42 Bobber remains unchanged.
2024 Bajaj Pulsar F250 launch
The 2024 Bajaj Pulsar F250 was launched at Rs 1.51 lakh. The bike was showcased at the global launch of the Pulsar NS400Z and the prices were revealed just recently. Bajaj kept the launch of the Pulsar F250 quite silent but the bikes have begun arriving in showrooms. The 2024 models looks identical to the 2023, save for the new black colour and the red and white graphics across the bike which looks striking.
BMW R1300GS bookings open
The BMW R 1300 GS is going to be launched in India soon. While BMW Motorrad India is yet to announce the date of the launch of the R 1300 GS, which should likely take place in June, dealers across India have begun accepting bookings for the same. The booking amount is said to be between Rs 50,000 to Rs 1 lakh, depending on the variant.
